The Singapore Sports Hub is the largest Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) sports facilities project in the world. It is also one of Singapore’s major infrastructure projects and will become a landmark in the city-state when it opens in April 2014.
Faced with the daunting task of managing a whole array of business partners sharing complex processes, the management of SportsHub Pte Ltd was sparing no effort to ensure that everything and everybody will be all set at the right time. In this perspective, a decision was made to strengthen the management structure by taking on board a transition manager who would help map all IT processes against business processes.
Transition management support requested in business information systems in terms of
• preparation during the current Design & Build phase (“D&B”),
• handover at the point of the “grand opening” planned in April 2014
• management of the IT outsourcing contract from Handover until 2015.
This is an on-going mission; however we have received positive feedback on the transition manager, his performance and the impact of the changes he has introduced to-date. The countdown stands at 11 months to go before the grand opening for this jewel in the crown project.
